Elizabeth Eamer
Royal College of Art alumna Elizabeth Eamer lives and works in London.
Her practice is grounded in printmaking, and her drawings and prints use repetition and division in imagery, as well as the limitations of the two-dimensional picture plane to obfuscate the simple.
A year after graduating, Eamer was given a solo show in the HUA LI GE Gallery, Beijing, and has shown at the RA summer show as well as various group exhibitions.
Recently she had her first major UK solo show in a publicly funded gallery, the Bargate in Southampton, which was extended by 2 weeks due to public demand.
The subject matter of her work is intensely personal and intimate; nothing is closer or more familiar to us – and thus more overlooked – than our very physicality. Eamer captures and contains the glance that is fickle, easily distractible, moving from one surface to the next quickly and sporadically.
